Shir
Hamakom is a
Jewish music
worship
community based on song and celebration in Greater Hartford
Connecticut. We were established in 2009 by
a dozen families
looking to rekindle their Jewish spirituality with community worship,
music and learning that excites the mind and ignites the soul.
We
blend the traditional with the new, always with music, capturing a
vital new Jewish spirit.
Our focus is re-examining traditional Jewish prayer, using contemporary
song and new music, often a blend of the original Hebrew with
interpretive English lyrics. If you are familiar
with the
prayers, you'll feel energized and at home, if they are new to you,
you'll feel welcome by our spirit and music. We are casual and
comfortable and welcoming. All prayers are translated and
transliterated. We love to sing and we welcome you to bring your
voice and to leave the work week behind as you experience our music
worship welcoming Shabbat.
I
know you're busy, but make
time to feed your senses and your spirit with friends. JOIN
US on
Friday January 6, 2012 at a new location at 6:45 pm with
